Invader finds new home in Switzerland

Douglas A-26 Invader N500MR (c/n 28048) ‘Rum and Coke’ was delivered to its new Swiss owner on 27 April. It was only a short hop from Bremgarten, Germany to Bern-Belp airport.

The Invader is now owned by Comanche Warbirds Inc. of Houston (TX), USA. They have a pair of P-51 Mustangs currently hangared on the airport. These are the two that have earlier spent time at Duxford: P-51B N515ZB 'Berlin Express' and P-51D N351MX 'Hun Hunter'.

Scramble reported earlier on the restoration of N500MR, which is a rare conversion of the Douglas A-26, called the On Mark Marketeer. As mentioned there the highly polished plane made its first post-restoration flight on 21 September 2021. Not long after, owner Tina Fly GmbH decided to put the plane up for sale.
