IndiGo orders A350s

On 25 April 2024, IndiGo announced it has signed its first order for widebody aircraft in the airline's history. After considering the Boeing B787 and the Airbus A350, IndiGo settled for the latter and placed a firm order for 30 A350-900s. The deal also includes purchase rights for 70 additional A350s.

Deliveries of its first widebody is scheduled for 2027. Closer to that, the airline will announce the exact configuration of the aircraft and where it plans to flying it to.

IndiGo was established in 2006 and has been a loyal Airbus-customer from its inception. It's fleet is currently made-up of 45 ATR72-600s, 33 A320s, 192 A320neos, three A321-200P2Fs, and 94 A321neos. It also wet-leases two Boeing B777-300ERs from Turkish Airlines. The airline has open orders with Airbus for 273 A320neos and 677 A321neos.
