Thanks for your reply, George (aka falcon)! We really must await what currently happens at Al Asad Airfield. But let me tell you: As a member of the F-16.net staff, since late 2005 I was mainly focused on F-16 OEF/OIF combat deployments. But in the next couple of days, I will update most of my own O...

Some news again from Lajes, [...] on 25th, the base is expecting 12 F-18's, most probably USMC one's   [...] Any new info about the announced Hornets? Meanwhile, I made my homework and I can tell you that VMFA(AW)-225 "Vikings" (deployed for six months since late August 2007...

Today, the following brand-new USAF photo was released on the public website of the 455th AEW, Bagram AB, Afghanistan: http://www.bagram.afnews.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/080213-F-6228L-032.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It looks to me more like A-10 81-0976/SP ...

Thanks for secured photo moving, Erik! And sorry! I´m new to "Scramble", comming from F-16.net. On our forums we can post pictures in every reply, they are only "downsized" by measurements to fit the website´s standard frame width. And in some cases a single picture says more as ...

According to latest news, there was really a swap of Spang Vipers at Balad AB, Iraq. On January 29, 2008, from a well-informed source I got the info: "I can tell you that 12 F-16s from Spangdahlem are heading for Balad today as Trend21 and Trend31". And at least according to a brand-new ne...

Thanks for serial number identification, Sandro! These Prowlers are on their way back home to CONUS after an OIF deployment at Al Asad Airfield in Iraq. During this deployment, USMC only released online news photos of tactical numbers 01, 02 and 03 - but without readable serial numbers. And as alrea...

Spang Vipers currently at Balad AB

Anybody who noticed any swap of Spang Vipers from and to Balad AB, Iraq, during the last couple of days? Meanwhile, the 23rd EFS replaced the 22nd EFS at Balad AB, but I´m nearly sure that the 23rd EFS will use the same aircraft which already deployed with the 22nd EFS. Still identified as deployed ...

Looks really like the five VMAQ-4 Prowlers are on their way for a six-month OIF deployment to Al Asad AB, Iraq, to replace the Detachment from VMAQ-2 (which previously replaced a Detachment from VMAQ-1). See Marine Corps News "Seahawks ‘lite’ path for Iraq": http://www.usmc.mil/marinelink/...

Thanks for your update, falcon!

At least to date, USAF released only a few related aircraft photos for public:

78-0705/MD, 81-0975/BC and 81-0994/BC (photographed at Bagram AB, Afghanistan)
