Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Wow! Sometimes a bit out of focus but the last one is really nice!
What a huge chopper it is. I saw it once in 1982...

Wow indeed!!!
Great to see how massive this bird and the boats hull actually are. Thanks for sharing.
Got to agree with Ernesto on the focus, but really like the last 2.
Greetz,
Hans.

Perhaps connected to this visit of Mil Mi-26T RA-06291, shot at Lausanne in the first week of August, apparently with a professional movie camera and good sound recording:
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3JCgJYf9XA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Don't remove/edit out this link please )
or

From about 1:30 the turbines start whining and the rotors get turning.
Lift off finally at 05:30.
Yes, the clip could do with some editing perhaps as only the hardcore Mil Mi-26 lovers will have the patience of seeing it all through 07:50 . After 07:50 only local "ordinary" stuff is shown...

Eggenfelden. Ein nicht alltäglicher Fluggast hat Dienstagmittag einen
unfreiwilligen Stopp auf dem Flugplatz Eggenfelden-Zainach (Lkr.
Rottal-Inn) eingelegt.
000 PS ausfiel. Es ging gar nichts mehr. Die Crew musste auf
Mechaniker und Ersatzteile warten. Das freute die Zaungäste, die den
Riesen von der Nähe betrachten wollten.
