On this page you can find the aircraft order of battle of the Portuguese Air Force. Also we present links to Microsoft's Terraserver and Expediamaps services: with each airbase you can find a link to a map of the airbases' neighbourhood and, if available, a satellite picture of the base.

We would like to give credit to the Força Aerea Portuguesa for their excellent website which can be found at http://www.emfa.pt/faping. On our FAP overview you can find links to the official Portuguese Air Force page by clicking on the squadron badges. There you can find more information about each squadron listed. The squadron badges are retrieved from the official FAP website.

Also we like to thank Christoph Kugler, Rui Ferreira, Hermen Goud, Robin Polderman, and J.M. Schweitzer for making Portuguese aircraft pictures available. If you are interested in the current weather situation at the airbases you will find a link to the Wunderground weather services for each airbase. Special thanks to Roy Digital Design for the picture of the overview map.

Of course, updates or photo's are always welcome. If you have corrections or additions please send them to us !

The newest aircaft in the inventory of the FAP is this EH101. Twelve are on order with the first being delivered in 2005. The order contains three different versions: 6 for SAR, 2 for maritime patrol and the final 4 for Combat SAR.

Although offically based at Montijo, Esq504 operates from Lisboa Airport

For the long-haul VIP flights, when it is needed to cross oceans or deserts, the FAP operates three Falcon 50's. But these aircraft are also frequently used for flights to Brussels.

It is good to see these old aircraft in such perfect flying condition, as they are still actively used as glider-tugs. Five of these Chipmunks were upgraded from the 76 ordered.
