B738M AirEuropa 640Air Europa takes delivery of 1st MAX

On 21 May 2025, Air Europa took delivery of its very first Boeing B737MAX. The aircraft, B737-8 EC-OGS (62918), is leased from AerCap and was handed-over during a special ceremony at Seattle-Boeing Field (WA). It left the US on the same day and was ferried to Madrid-Barajas via Glasgow.

Its first commercial flights are scheduled for 23 June 2025, with the aircraft pencilled-in for flights to Amsterdam and Brussels from Madrid.

Air Europa has a lease-agreement for ten B737-8s with AerCap and also holds firm orders with Boeing directly for 20 more MAXs. The airline hopes to have 20 in service by 2027. The new MAXs will be used by Air Europa to renew its narrowbody-fleet, which today is made-up of 34 B737-800s.
