B738M AirIndiaExpress 640Air India orders more MAXs and converts A321neo-orders

Air India has announced it has decided to place an order for additional MAXs with Boeing. In total, the airline is ordering 30 more aircraft, which are divided between 20 B737-8s and ten B737-10s. All will be allocated to Air India Express.

The order for the -8s was booked this month, but the ten -10s were already booked as undisclosed by Boeing. With this latest order, the Indian airline now has 169 MAXs on order.

Air India also announced it has decided to convert fifteen A321neos it has on order with Airbus into the newest A321XLR. Delivery of these aircraft is expected to take place between 2029 and 2030. The airline has 210 A321neos on firm order with the European manufacturer.
