Reuters is reporting that Boeing and Alaska Airlines are in negotiations about a potential additional order for the B737MAX. A deal could be expected to be finalized when the B737MAX gets the green light to go back in the air again, which could come as early as next month. The report from Reuters didn't mention how big the order would be.

Currently, Alaska Airlines has orders for 37 MAXs; 20 737-8s and 17 737-9s. None of these have so far been delivered due to the grounding of the MAX. Alaska Airlines has a fleet of 166 B737s and 71 A320-family aircraft which it inherited when it took over Virgin America. Earlier this month the airline announced it would accelerate the retirement of their owned A320-fleet, but will keep on the leased ones.
