GOL and American Airlines announce return-to-service dates for MAX

The first two airlines, GOL and American Airlines, have announced when they will resume flights with the B737MAX. On 2 December American Airlines and on 3 December GOL, both airlines carried out flights with journalists to show the aircraft was safe and ready to go.

GOL will be the first airline and is planning to deploy their MAXs and will do so from 10 December. The airline currently has a fleet of seven B737-8s, next to 97 B737-800s and 22 B737-700s. It has 97 MAXs remaining on order.

On 29 December, American Airlines is due to restart their flights and will first fly the type between New York-La Guardia (NY) and Miami-International (FL). So far, the airline has taken delivery of 24 B737-8s and still has 76 on order.
