Kenya Airways to add widebody-freighters

Kenya Airways is set to expand its full-cargo business by introducing a first B767-300 freighter in the coming months. A second aircraft is due later this year. By 2030, the airline plots to have the aircraft replaced by three B777Fs. Ideally, Kenya Airways wanted to begin with the B777Fs but these were not available on the terms the airline wanted.

According to the airline, it wants to double its cargo revenue by adding new destinations and is thinking of flying its new widebody-freighters to Guangzhou and/or Hong Kong.

Today, Kenya Airways is operating a full-cargo fleet of two B737-300Fs and two B737-800Fs. Next to these cargo aircraft, it operates nine B737-800s, nine B787-8s, and twelve ERJ190s for its passenger-business.
