KLM to retire B747-400 on 25 October

KLM has announced it will retire the B747-400 on 25 October 2020, ending the extension of life the type had in the KLM-fleet. Originally KLM was planning to retire the type in 2021, but brought it forward to April of this year when the Corona-pandemic struck.

However, the need for cargo capacity changed this and three Jumbos (PH-BFT/V/W) resumed service and were used for all-cargo operations between China and The Netherlands.
