Uganda Airlines interested in A220s or E195-E2s

The CEO of Uganda Airlines has given an interview to Aviadev in which he stated that the airline is considering ordering either the Airbus A220 or the Embraer E195-E2. Uganda Airlines has a need for a 120-150 passenger aircraft with sufficient range and capabilities to fly non-stop between Uganda and South Africa.

Currently, the airline has a fleet of two A330-800s and four CRJ900s. The additional type would be bridging the gap between the regional jets and its widebodies.

Although not specifically mentioned in the interview, reading between the lines it seems the A220 is the favorite aircraft. A decision is expected to be made in the beginning of 2022.
