VACANCY: USAF database editor

Post by Scramble Bestuur/Board »

Scramble Magazine is looking for an avid military aviation enthusiast who would like to maintain our database of the largest air force in the world, the United States Air Force. This USAF database, containing over 60,000 records, deserves to be meticulously maintained.

As a database manager it is important that you understand serials, fintip colors and codes, types and subtypes, units, etc. of that massive air force. Your commitment to the database and its end result can be found on www.scramble.nl and in our periodic serial publications.

You must be willing to scour the internet for USAF serials that can be found in for example showreports, movements and trip reports, including our own message board. This definitely takes time, we don't want this to be underestimated. But the satisfaction is great, especially when you consider that our database reflects the state of affairs of this air force as accurately and up-to-date as possible and the fact that many, many aviation enthusiasts, professionals and military are using the extensive Scramble USAF database to update their knowledge. And many of those are also supporting us already for years via our on-line "send updates" options.

Of course your contribution to our volunteer club is voluntary, but as you will probably understand there is a form of obligation. You will be taught how to work with our database, and how to use our standards. But... that's easy! For sure, you will have fun in our enthusiastic team!
