edit: read elsewhere: crew decided to return because of snowstorms near Almaty
Hmmm, strange. Didn't they know at the meteo that snowstorms were expected? :? :?:

KLM 747 returns to Schiphol?

Post by United 777 »

Fifteen minutes ago I noticed a KLM Boeing 747 overflying the northern part of Friesland. The plane headed southwest towards Schiphol and maintained an altitude somewhere between 1500 and 2500 metres (my guess). Does anyone have more information about this flight?

About 15 minutes ago it was flying overhead Leeuwarden at the same altitude and turning to the West.

Maybe a testflight after maintenance.

At low altitude above the city of Leeuwarden?

I don't think so.

Friesland is of course beautiful from the air.

Maybe the crew favoured some low altitude sightseeing.

You mean forum in stead of topic, right? Where does my question belong according to you? I have lived in Dokkum for many years now and low flying 747s are very rare here. The Civil Message Board seems the right place for this subject to me.

No, he means topic.
On the Schiphol forum there is a topic called 'Kisten die om wat voor reden terugkeren naar Schiphol' oid.

Vliegbasis platgebeld over laagvliegende Boeing KLM
