Current status RNLAF CH-47D D-662?

Post by Mark B. »

Question,

After the mission in Mali, RNLAF CH-47D D-662 returned to Gilze Rijen March 16th 2017 (delivered by SAC C-17 02).

The other 2 "mission Mali" Chinooks that returned in the same period (D-666 and D-103), were quickly noted active again but D-662 had never been flown since.

Anyone with information about the future for D-662 "Lady Liberty"? Will it ever fly again?

Kind Regards,

Mark

We asked exactly that question during a visit on November with onze Luchtmacht.
Due to lack of spares it is still at Woensdrecht with some of it's parts being used on other chinooks to keep the, in the sky.
Once the parts come available it should be active quickly again.

Thanks for the quick reply. So she is already at Woensdrecht :-) Roadrunner or a single flight?

I do know that AH-64D Q-22, after Mali also airlifted to Gilze, made a single flight from Gilze to Woensdrecht several months later. I think at the moment it is one of the last Apaches to recieve the Block 2 upgrade.
