L21B R-123

Hallo,

Via het NIMH heb ik enkele jaren een foto van de op 27 september 1965 op de strip van Ermelo gecrashte R-123 (waarbij de vlieger en waarnemer helaas om het leven kwamen) ontvangen. Op de foto is de kist van dayglo neus voorzien, waarbij opvalt dat dit de gehele neus en niet alleen de beide motorbeplatingen aan de zijden zijn. Ten tijde van de crash vloog de 123 bij 300 Sqn vanaf Ypenburg.
Heeft de 123 mogelijk vóór de crash ook vanaf Gilze-Rijen bij de RVO gevlogen en zo ja tot wanneer?

Ik heb de R-123 op 18-04-1963 tijdens de Jeugdluchtvaartdagen op Ypenburg gezien en genoteerd "met dayglow neus". Ook de R-115 was daar aanwezig met dayglow neus.
De overige 12 daar genoteerde exemplaren waren in volledige camouflagekleuren.
De L-21's met dayglow neus werden gewoonlijk gebruikt om zweefvliegtuigen op te slepen.
