As far as I know, there is no more money for flying the Super Etendard. Remain a very small number of pilots at the 17F which could fly with this a/c. Not sure if you go to Landivisiau, you will see some of these a/c flying!
If they participate in the 14 July flypast, they should also participate in the rehearsel which is always in half / end of June above Chateaudun. So that should be another opportunity to catch them.
Last appearance of the Super Etendard Modernized Biscarrosse May 22
The Modernised Super Etendard (SEM) will appear for the last time in public at the airshow Biscarrosse , Sunday, May 22
After 37 years of worldwide operations, the SEM will be removed from active service in July. The onboard fighter naval air will then pass the "All Rafale".
Flottille_17F Two SEM will perform aerial demonstrations during their last public demonstration meeting.
The symbol is strong, being the city Biscarrosse godmother of the flotilla 17F, the last of the naval aviation to implement this legendary aircraft that has just performed its last operational mission aboard the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.
Drivers will also be available on the tarmac, to present the missions of sailors of heaven and their fleet, which will soon be equipped with the Rafale.
Successor of the Etendard IV, Super Etendard was produced 71 copies for the Navy between 1977 and 1983. He take the name of Super Etendard modernized in 1986 after a modernization program.
A French air-traffic controller I spoke to at Istres said they had been withdrawn from operational use 2 weeks prior. That doesn't say that there won't be a farewell ceremony though..
