Brno - Czech Airshow 8/9 September

Post by Marco »

on 8 and 9 september the Czech airshow will take place. For those who think about going to it, check http://www.skyeurope.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The price without charges is currently 1.5 euro on the leg Amsterdam - Bratislava one way. So for 3 euro's excl. charges you are in Bratislava, from here it is only 1.5hrs driving.

But do check the rental cars!!! We tried to rent a car in Bratislava to go to Hungary (for Kecskemet) and got negative replies from some of the rental companies; we couldn't take the car from Slowak Republic into Hungary. So if you wish to rent a car: CHECK IT!!

:D Guys the British Car Rental company Holiday Autos will rent you a car that can go to Hungary as that is who we are using !
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know a complete trip to the airshow, similar to the airshowtrips.be? HAT doesn't have it.

Hi

I will be going to CIAF this year for the first time. Does anyone have any hints or tips about where it's good to take pictures from or other things that might be nice to know.

Thanks

Jonas,

Enter the base only for staticphoto's. To take pics of the flyingdisplay it's better to find a spot anywhere along the track outside the base because on base you will have the sun in your face all day long, obviously bad for taking pics.

Lucky me. I will be on vacation in the Brno area when this is taking place :D :D . I do have a question, nevertheless. Will the regular passenger traffic in and out of Brno continue on these days, although it's not much, but maybe interesting?

Scheduled flights

Post by PIK Flyer »

Scheduled flights should go ahead as normal BUT all that's scheduled for the Saturday is 1 x Ryanair 737 and 2 X CSA ATR's. On the Sunday, theres an extra Smartwings flight to Moscow .... and thats it!

It's a case of enjoy the show (I will!) but dont go for the scheduled flights.

All info from the airport website http://www.airport-brno.cz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Never been at Brno before, so I'm interested to know if it's easy to find this track?

Search for this horsetrack in the top:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=nl&g ... iwloc=addr

This is one of the best places.

EDIT: Spot 11 at the map provided by Vincent

@ Key

I think it was 71364. There is a picture of it from departure day here: http://www.airshow.cz/pictures/ciaf07/odlety/an26.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But it is difficult to se the numbers.
Kind regards

Should be 71364. Didn't read it myself, but someone on MSF stated he read the serial from his picture.

Thanks guys. Had difficulties reading it myself, due to eroding paint and reflecting light. But I have enough clues now to conclude this is the one.
