@Motty

When you are in the area don't forget Taiwan. It is not so far from Korea/Japan.

Apr.12 at 13:30, Blue Implse fly pass over the Seto exp.way bridge(Kagawa pref.) and held remote show over the Takamatsu Sun-Port at 13:35-13:50.(Takamatsu port is about 100m from the JR Takamatsu station)

Apr.13 is the same, but it starts at 10:00/10:05-10:20.

Well, please note that photographing around the air base is prohibited in Taiwan and S-Korea.
(In Taiwan, you can take photos indeed, when there is no buildings in the background.)

That is correct. You can take photos during take-off and landing as long as there are no buildings in the background. And of course there are the open houses where you can take photos on base (and with buildings in the background). These developed from a small open house with only 2 aircraft in the static to what they are now. Aircraft of all types that are in service with the airforce in the static and flying of the F-16 and Mirage 2000 demos, the Thunder Tiger Team and based aircraft. And don't forget that the Taiwanese Air Force is also flying in the weekends. It is not unusual to see 10-14 fighters on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

JASDF often held their Nation-wide exercise in October.
It is called "So-En"(shortend Japanese term "So-tai Enshuu",
which means "whole sqn.'s exercise".) and it takes about 2 weeks
or more.

During the exercise, there will be less flights than normal day
except the day of the air combat.
Please note it.

Since 2006, the Japanese term had changed to "Sotai Sogo Kunren",
but same meaning in English.

Thanks for the extra info guys.

Thanks also to you Uni. Do you know when the "Sotai Sogo Kunren" might be held (dates)?

Is it possible to arrange visits onto JASDF bases for foreigners?

Cheers,
Motty.

Hello, Motty,

The exercise date will be released about 2 weeks before at the
Ministry of Defence Japan site. But it must be Japanese only.
http://www.mod.go.jp/j/news/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The exercise will consist about 5 stages in 2 weeks;
1. Occurrence, 2. Development, 3. Alart, 4 (Air) Combat, 5. Final and RTB.
And the air combat day(a lot of flights in one day) may be held one day during the Tuesday to Thursday at the second week of the execise.

There are no infos about the special markings of the F-4 by now.

Please ask to the P.R.O. of each bases directry by postal mail, if you want some arrangements. I have no infos for them.

That's all today.
