Where did I hear this before? Wasn´t it the PdS demo in Hungary last year that was cancelled because one of the pilots broke his leg.....? Extremely dangerous country, Switzerland....

Tupolev Tu-95 Russian Air Force, Russia De
can be found somewhere waaaaay down below
http://www.ila2008.de/ila2008/airshow20 ... alle_e.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; under the "R" of "Russian Air Force.

"De" stands for "Air display operating from outside ILA-terrain".

I think the C-17, B-1 air display and Polish Mig-29 demo are far more realistic...

Yeah, interesting updates, PC-9's confirmed as the croatian display team, bringing a Mi 171 with them to :good:

Tu-95 would be great, but I doubt if it's gonna be there every day...

Tupolev 95

I think the display has to do something with "showing the power of the Russian Airforce " which is very popular the last years. Look at the military parade at the red square and the long range bomber patrols over the oceans.

So you think Mr. Medvedev is going to attack NATO from the east since Mr. Putin couldn't get in from the north?

Then it shouldn't be announced more than a week before at an airshow website :P :P

Tu 95

Post by phantom »

I contacted the 'team hotline' of the ILA airshow about the flight programme of the Tu-95. They answered with this:

Dear Mr Hettema,

Thank you for your e-mail and your interest in ILA Berlin Air Show 2008.
You will find the preliminary flight programme as well as a list of the exhibited aircrafts on our home page http://www.ila-berlin.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; respectively via the following link: http://www.ila-berlin.de/ila2008/faq/index_e.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
The exact flight program will be concluded short before ILA starts. This information will be actualized on our website daily and also, published by loudspeakers and flyers during ILA.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

ILA Berlin Air Show 2008

So this looks like there are two options:
- You didn't exact mention your question was pointing to the Tu-95, which would surprise me, as you tell you did in the top of your story
- ILA just didn't read your e-mail properly, thought "something about the flying display" (or the german equivalent) and returned just a standard answer.

But at least they answered you, I asked them something three years ago at the Salon at LBG, they told me to send an email with the question, and up till now I haven't received an answer.

This is the email i send to them:

Hello ILA management,

At my great surprise i see a Tupolev 95 at the list of visitors for the airshow. My question is: Do we see this aircraft every day or is it just flying 1 day from Russia? And if it is only flying 1 day, at which day ?
It is my wish to see this aircraft flying in western europe. A big thanks to the organisation of the ILA to let this wonderfull airplane coming to the ILA.

I think it could't be clearer.

In the meantime I sent them a mail in German. Maybe they understand that language better than english. If there is an answer with more information, I'll post it at this topic.

Meanwhile at Moscow some people might be amused, all those western idiots desperately talking about their hardware. :rofl2:

As promised above, although it isn't as detailed as we would have hoped...

ILA Berlin Air Show 2008

Preliminary flightprogram for all days online:

Specific a/c demos are hardly mentioned, just the A380 and Eurofighter.

I don't think that Switzerland is dangerous ;)

I don't know of the exact circumstances, but normally an accident involves two. Maybe an Snowboarder of your country was sleeping directly after an hill on the slope - Snowboarders always doing such dumb things  - and Pipo has not seeing it. You know, we have'nt anymore Recce-Mirages for such controls :P :P :P

(I had to answer it, 'cause I'm working in tourism-company)[/quote]
