Expect also some flying activity for the Air Power Demo which will be held during the ILA. Some fighter aircraft will operate out of Laage. See also the ILA topic at this MB.

When i read the first post I would say that they don't want people going there for flying activity. It says: "Diese sind jedoch nicht Inhalt des Fototages".

What I read is; there will be more a/c present but don't come complaining if you can not take pics of these.

Greetings,

Vermutlich finden an diesem Tag die Vorübungen zur Leistungsdarstellung Luftwaffe statt.
Vermutlich=probably, so they don't know yet if there will be any training for the ILA that day.
Diese sind jedoch nicht Inhalt des Fototages.
(If there is a training) these movements won't be part of the photo call!

Worst case: Remember the photo call 2004? All aircraft for the event were parked in the south east of the airbase on the old taxiway to the Autobahn. There is a lot of space which they need if they want to put up all types of the Luftwaffe on display. From there you will hardly get any decent shots of the flying activities.

The whole setup of this spottersday has changed, first plan was only static and no possibility to photograph flying aircraft.
New setup is NO static on base (it is possible to photograph some of the aircraft on the civil platform), but photographing aircraft on taxiway and runway from a position near the tower (several EF2000, Tornado, F4F and some C160).
Start of the spotterday changed to 9.00, flying from 11.00 - 15.00 .
The complete info can be found on luftwaffe website in German (go to http://www.luftwaffe.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -> Aktuelles -> Termine -> spotterday beim Jagdgeschwader 73) :

Slight change of plans;

"Dear Sir or Madam,

with this email we want to inform you that the flying times have changed
for Monday, May 26th.
In order to view the whole flying program we advice that you arrive at the
terminal of the Airport Rostock-Laage (civil) about 06:30 a.m.
Registration will be inside the civil terminal and AFTER that you will be
taken to the spotting area by bus shuttles.
The whole event will last until about 12 o'clock.
Since we cannot influence the flying program, there might be changes
anytime. We try to inform you as best as possible, but please understand
sudden changes as well.

Thank you very much.

Berit Recklebe
Staff Sergeant"

At Luftwaffe.de they start at 9 o'clock and end on 15. They doesn't say anything about the civil terminal. It's a little bit confusing :?

The reason for this change is that the flyingtraining for the ILA on this day starts allready at 8.30 am and ends before 1200.
I have asked if they are talking about zulu times, but sadly these are local times.
So everyone who is going has to get out of bed real early.
