Satenas airshow 04-07-2015 (heavy)

Hi,

As I did not see any pictures from Satenas here I thought I might as well post some here. The show was blessed with fantastic weather but unfortunately the positition of the sun was terrible throughout the day. This is why we decided to take the challenge and walk about 4km upstream to position ourselves outside the base near the end of the runway. The show was mainly a Scandinavian event. Our main goal were the aircraft of the fantastic Swedish Air Force Historical Flight. Most aircraft flew three times during the day providing us with suffient opportunities to take some decent pictures. I hope that you will enjoy the pics!

Beautifully Paul, Sätenas is a great airfield , especially flightlines and when you are outside near the fence, have done that also, long time ago, nothing is more beautiful than Drakens , Gripens low in the landing with a dazzling background

PS As warm as it was during the day , it was so cold at night in the bus, O yeah the Swedish sausages unfortunately I can still remember them too

Wow, super report! All those vintage beauties they have overthere, really amazing!

Aaaah the Caravelle....I remember being in the Malmslatt Museum with a list of friends in '95. I was the only one not doing photography, so I was in the corner of the museum kind of staring along the approach, hoping for a bit of luck to see some traffic. Then I saw a little spot moving along the horizon in a turn towards the base.....CARAVELLE!!!! You can imagine the scene that followed...spotters came running from all directions from the museum....haha

(Question to my friends: did I remember everything correctly, or is it overdramatized in my head over the years? )
