Pics: Week in Ecuador, FAE in Guayaquil

Post by stipjes »

This week we are spending in Ecuador with Pat Avn. LMB MD & TvB joined me. The weather is much better then expected and there is activity. Despite the fact that we did not gain acces with the FAE we are still happy. Today we were at Taura and after 10 minutes 6 Cheeta's arrived.... 15 minutes after our arrival we where enroute to Salinas. It was a great day. A report will appear in the take-off magazine!

Post by stipjes »

The Cheeta's we saw on teusday. On Monday we visited the Navy at Manta. It was a relaxed day and fortunately we also saw six A-29's leaving for a ceremony!

Unfortunately I did see, they also already use drones..... :-(

Great report by the way.
Sometimes (my experience) they can be quite picky about spotting......
Good job, I really like the looks of those A-29 Super Tucano's.

Wow, fantastic aircraft again Patrick! No problems taking these pics at Manta? I was there in 1993 and did not dare to take out my camera... And that with a full flightline of AT-33s and A-37s... Enjoy the rst of the week there!

Thanks for the nice comments. At Manta we had a visit with the Navy Jonatan, so the FAE A-29's where a bonus that taxied by.
Taura was a bit tricky but we found a spot behind some trees. After the afternoon flight 2 friends where stopped by Police but they (ecuadorian) could leave after a While. In the meantime we went to Salinas. The last days where even better. We had some flights With the navy and visited the army. Unfortunately we are not allowed to post everything. More soon :-). Now in the terminal for our flight back!

Despite only having acces to the Navy this we where able to photograph a lot of Army aircraft. Also a Gazelle started up for us at an Army base but the pics cannot be posted :-(. We where very happy with the variety of aircraft that are based or visited Guayaquil!

Very nice report that becomes more interesting with every update.
Why can the pictures of the Gazelle not be posted?

Guides, militairy or others a lot of times dont want you to publish stored, crashed, hangared or maintenance aircraft. Besides that I dont publish drones or we were told we could only use the pics for private use. Hence not all but No prob! We had a great trip!
