Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International 23-02-2020

Post by LifelinerOne »

Last stop of the day was Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International. I spotted here from the official viewing area at SW 39th St, off the W Perimeter Road. From here you can see all planes landing and departing on runway 10L, the Northern runway. Officially the viewing area was closed due to construction works, but on this Sunday it was possible to drive into the parking lot. The roof of the Wrangler was once again very convenient to photograph over the fence here.

1. B737-700 C-GCWJ of WestJet is ready to go on the runway for its flight back to Canada:

2. Across the viewing area is this former B727F N235FE, which is used by the Broward County Aviation Department:

3. Southwest is using Fort Lauderdale as their South Florida-hub, so I could spot quite some of their B737s, like this B737-700 N489WN:

4. Fort Lauderdale is also a hub for JetBlue, which fly here with their A320s, A321s and ERJ-190s, like this N353JB:

5. Quite new A321neoLR N2017J of JetBlue lined-up for take-off:

6. Another airline using FLL as one of their hubs is Spirit Airlines with their very distinct yellow paintscheme as shown by A321 N658NK:

7. It's also the homebase of Silver Airways, which flies Saab 340s, ATR42s and the ATR72 like this N702SV:

8. Azul Airlines operates two flights a day to Fort Lauderdale, using A320neos and A330s, like this A330-900 PR-ANY:

9. One of the more prettier liveried bizjets photographed this day was this Falcon 2000 N850TC:

10. Allegiant is also a frequent visitor at Fort Lauderdale. Here is A320 N227NV on finals for 10L:

11. Unfortunately the sun just hid behind a cloud when this A320 N775JB in special livery taxied past:

And that was it for this day. You can see all pictures from FLL at https://www.flickr.com/photos/lifeliner ... 687015752/

Cheers!
