G'day All. Any interest in upside down photos?

ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

G'day Marien (My sincere apologies about getting your name wrong before),

Williamtown (where I've done just about all my spotting) is a great base for photography. There is a major road which runs right past the front of the base and, when the wind is in your favour, the aircraft land right over this road. There is even a couple of small seats provided at the best spot.

There is also a small but interesting Museum very close by which has an observation platform which also provides a good view of one end of the runway. If the wind is against you, reasonable photos are also possible from this observation deck.

I can't speak for other bases as I haven't taken photos from outside of any others.

Thanks Ronald, but lucky? :?

Oh what I would give to have all those (often very colourful) European F-16s within such easy reach! :P
And if that's not enough, so many other frontline types from several countries so easily and often seen.
TLP exercises with so many different types in one place (including my favourite, Phantoms) where they can be well photographed?
Several bases in several different countries all within just a couple of hours drive?
So many airshows during the summer months that you would have to choose which ones to go to?
Countries and bases which actively embrace the spotting community with open days and photographes events?
Special colour schemes every which way you look?

Sorry, but I don't think it's me who should feel lucky. :wink:

you right!!! great pics anyway! but........ you always(allmost) have great weather, we have(in Holland) already 4 weeks with rain and the predictions are even 5 more wet weeks to come :cry:

I didn't get his name but I hope to see him drop in here once he gets back to a computer.

I won't post any of the shots I took yesterday so that he can share his own experiences with you all. I guess he was just as happy to see some of our Hornets as I would be to see a Dutch F-16. :wink:

Williamtown has the only RAAF PC-9s used for FAC training.

Our Hawks can be fitted with bolt-on refuelling probes if needed.

I managed to catch this, the newest of our C-17s so far, just a week after it's delivery when it dropped into Williamtown.

The grass ia always greener on the other side, as they say :-)

Nevertheless I will be crossing over for a month or two in December Januari. To see as much aviation related places, museums a s I can :-)
