Bolivian apetizers

Post by canberra »

Hola all,

After four weeks in Bolivia I finally had a bit of aviation action. We planed to have a weekend in the nice and warm city of Santa Cruz. Early Friday morning I went to La Paz – El Alto where I had a look around before leaving to Santa Cruz on Aerosur B722 CP-2424.

CP-2026 C-131B is one many stored propliners at La Paz. This one is in particular good condition though.

After a bit more than an hour flight I arrived at the surprisingly busy Santa Cruz – Viru Viru airport. Weather was quite hazy and I had the sun against me, but stayed for around two hours to make some photos.

CU-C1700 Tu-204CE Cubana Cargo, nice surprise for my first Santa Cruz visit.

CP-2484 B732 Aerosur, a Santa Cruz regular. La Paz is mostly served by B722s.

After that it was unto Santa Cruz – El Trompillo. Here I meet up with Santa Cruz based photographer/spotter Giovanni Rodriguez. El Trompillo has a nice little terrace were photos can be made with no hassle.

FAB-711 UH-1H Fuerza Aérea Boliviana, after some hovering training, this one made a number of fly-bys.

FAB-74 CL-66B (CC-109) Trasportes Aéreos Bolivianos, active Cosmopolitan, I LIKE THAT!!

After a couple of days at the pool it was time to head towards La Paz again. This time I was flying out of El Trompillo, but before departure a few more photos were made.

FAB-66 C-130B Fuerza Aérea Boliviana, happy to make this one, departed minutes after I arrived.

CP-2176 Do-228 Aerocon, my ride to Trinidad with Aerosur B722 CP-2462 behind.

Instead of going directly back to La Paz I went via Trinidad to have a look. I only had 45 minutes here but enough to make a few photos before the last bit of the trip back to La Paz were made on Amaszonas Metro CP-2459.

Well, that was about it. Hope to be able to post full log sometime in the weekend.

Hasta luego, Michael

Unfortunatly not yet. It didn't fly during my stay in Santa Cruz. It has been parked at El Trompillo a few weeks, but I know some training flight are planed. Hopefully some photos of it in the air next time.

Until when you will have to do with these C-46s
