. Dutch F-16's have been flying around with this text only for the past 28 years. If you never noticed; pay more attention! 
J-008's USAF serial is on the datablock (88-0008). All Dutch F-16's (and all US military aircraft sold to a foreign country under a Foreign Military Sales -FMS- contract for that matter) have an allocated US military (in this case USAF) serial. Most carry this serial somewhere on the fuselage. The Dutch F-16's display the Dutch serial on the canopy rail and the USAF-serial on the data-block; other users have their national serial on the data-block and the USAF-serial on the canopy-rail, or carry one of them (or both) on the tail.kiwi wrote:Still strange that it says US Air Force F-16A under the canopy. And NO, we don't have F-16AM's that used to be USAF F-16's... in the sense that the Dutch F-16's were built by Fokker and delivered straight to the RNethAF. They got their USAF serial for administrative purposes only. And, of course, the Dutch serial is no more, no less than the "last 3" of the USAF-serial, prefixed by "J-"
