PC-21's at Payerne

Post by E. Schoonderwoerd »

I allready posted a topic about the ex-australian tigers at Payerne in which I stated it was a 'slow' day concerning flight activity. What I forgot to mention is a visit (touch and go's) of two PC-21.

According to the official website
http://www.lw.admin.ch/internet/luftwaf ... /pc21.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

they are brand new, and new in service. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, enclosed a couple of pictures. Enjoy.

Nice planes to replace the RNLAF F-16s, due to the delays with the F-35A.
Who needs "stealth" to fight the taliban and its friends.

Ad some rocketpods, gunpods and Mk.82s and you have an nice anti-terrorist fighter plane.

*not serious* Yes very nice, especially when you meet a Sukhoi Flanker in the air or some new russian made anti-air-defense. I think the pilatus would kick its ass. It is also very comparable to a jet fighter. We are also lucky that we only have to fight taliban in the future and that we don't have to do anything else. *not serious*

Nice images. It's hard to judge but maybe you have to decrease you shutterspeed a little bit. By doing this you get more prop-blur. Anyway it's a nice aircraft.

Hi,

I wonder if our airforce has plans to replace the PC-7's with this new one. There was a PC-21 at our air show last year.

cheers,

I recall reading about a possible deal for PC-21's, don't know if it was to replace the PC-7 or an addition. But I think I read that indeed that was the reason a PC-21 visited the Open Days..
