Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Since I've picked up my interests in aviationphotography again since the early 90's, I visit the airfields again but this time with better equipment then I did before. My last shoot with analog was EHGR, when the F117's were there. I believe it was 1993 and the camera I used was a Minolta X700.

So, yesterday I went to Volkel and shot some F16's there. This time with a Canon EOS 1D mark IV. I hope you like the results. I've tried to make a selection of not too standard images.

1. Panning at 1/125 second

2. Panning at 1/320 second

3. An F16 in The Netherlands :)

4. Hanging in final for 24R (unfortunatly the sun disapeared for the rest of the day)

5. Landing on 24L

6. Amazing new Volkel tower

Those are some very nice captures you've posted here! :D

I'm planning to go to EHVK soon, and these pictures makes me more wanting to go there. As 'civil' spotter, I've made my first move to 'mil' yesterday at Gilze-Rijen, and witnessed a F-16 flyby there, so EHVK is on my wishlist, even more after watching your images.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Andres. I live 10mins by bike away from Gilze-Rijen an go there tomorrow. :)
Klik here to view the map of Volkel.
When you visit Volkel you can park on spot 1 when runway 24 is in use. Pictures 1-3 were shot there. Then go on foot to the corner of the N277 and the road to the parking lot where you can shoot pictures like 4-6. Spot 2 is not recommended now due to the crops growing at this time.
