ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Hawgsmoke 2012

Post by dinger »

During August 2012, I was lucky enough to go to Davis Monthan AFB with 4 Aviation to photograph the happenings at Hawgsmoke 2012. We were fortunate enough to have ramp access on arrivals day and the rest of the time we were on the outside catching the recoveries fo the locals and the visitors. Here are a few shots from arrivals day and departures day.

First things first, the visiting Hawgs on the ramp including examples from Moody, Barksdale, Michigan and Idaho.

After our ramp visit, we relocated to the approach for the remainder of the day.

Some of the guys went to the range on day two and the rest of us spent the morning at Tucson shooting the Vipers before returning to DM for the afternoon. The range wasnt as good as hoped for those that went. Most of the A-10's were too distant for photography.

Beautiful, sunny and razorsharp shots  ! Only tiny remark: I personally like some more room around the planes, the crops are quite tight. But there are no accountings for taste I guess.

Everybody is free to share his / her opinions at this forum, positive or negative. When this is done in a polite way there is no reason, for us as moderators, to remove remarks like the one Bas made.

Just as Bas said, it is also a matter of taste.
