Post by Wim »

As there was some snow in the western part of country and nice weather was arriving, and a lot of flying activity from the seakings, I went to have a look at the base this afternoon. This is what I came home again:

RS05 returning from seawork

RS03 was doing cargosling

Intermediate landing for crewchange

and departing again

RS04 doing a testflight

and joining up with RS03 for a small formation flight

RS04 landing again

and taxiing back

ground crew preparing RS05 for nightflight

I hope you like them

Wow Wim,

Those are really great shots. A lot of people (incl me) will regret that we did not go when they were still flying (in a few years).... Are all pics taken from outside?

very interesting pictures with great background motives. tnx for taking those pictures on a cold weather and for sharing them with scramblerers :) sea king is really nice helicopter, i would like to see him here in Croatia but that's probably will never ever happen. back in the early 90-ties when war destruction ruled in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, we could see sea kings from KLM (i think) in UNO white livery and also sea kings from UK army which were flown under international IFOR and later SFOR missions. then i was just a kid so didn't have any camera to take pictures, but some memories are still alive...

The white Sea Kings would probably have been civil Sikorsky S-61N's of KLM ERA.

A great series of photos! :D
This time the ground equipment "adds to the atmoshere"...

Wim,
Superb - congrats on these shots. I wish we in Canada would paint up a special colors bird to commemorate our Sea Kings.
I know that they might still be around for another 20 years (at the rate the S92's are progressing)
