Wittmund 29-04-2013

Post by gortje »

Hi,

I was last Tuesday a full day on Wittmund. It was into the morning very cold because the hard wind and some little bit of rain.
Into the afternoon the weather gets much better with a lot of sunshine.
I wanted to see the Phantoms because they will fly now for 2 months at Wittmund.

There departed into the morning a set of 3 Phantoms to Nörvenich and there was an QRA of 2 Phantoms. One of this Phantoms didn't get off because he had i think some problems with the afterburner.

There was also an touch & go of an P-3C Orion of the German marine.

There was also 3 waves with the A-4 Skyhawk (White/Blue and the camo version).

There was also an EF-2000 flying with the Richthoven "R" applied, this one also came back in good light conditions.

Into the afternoon the Phantoms gets back and the pilots did some nice touch & go's for us and nice manouvers with their machines.

It was a nice day with a lot of activity this day.

Here are some of my pictures, the rest can you find on my updated website.
I hope you like the pictures that i've made.

Thanks Chris!

Still, want to give the merge another try. Got one more image earlier in the sequence, that shows the Phantom low over the deck and to the right of the fire truck. To get that one in too, would really finish it.

Hi Ghanz,

It was nice to meet you also with your mate.
It was a nice day with 2 of my children.
They talk every day about the aircrafts, and when we go again to see them.
It was a long day for them but they loved that they can go with me.
The composite of 5 pictures is nice, well done!!!
