BMF Su-24's still active in Ukraine (MIL)

BMF Su-24's still active in Ukraine (MIL)

During the second and third week of September I had the chance to photograph some of my old favorite aircraft the 40+ year old Su-24's of the 7058AB at Gvardeskoye. It could be the last time, their are few rumours that they will soon be replaced by the Su-34 and another rumour is that the Russian Black Seafleet want's to close one of their bases on Crimea.

For now I just upload two of my pics; first one was taken in take off for it's last mission of the day, it was already about 5 pm and the sun was going down quick, the second was taken in landing while making a aboarded landing.

Henk: I am travelling to Crimea for more than 15 years. Speaking the language, but far from perfect, helps me a lot. The second shot was taken from a private area were you normally will be kicked off unless... :wink:

Here a Fencer-F 33/RF-33780 this is one of the four based at Gvardeskoye which caused tension between the governments of Ukraine and Russia during the war in Ossetia. The Fencer-F were involved in the war. Therefore the Ukrainian government didn't allow the Russian Navy to use the simulator at Nitka (Saki) in 2008.

Shurikkk75: yes I have seen them and photographed most of them during the years. But where comes from your interest for the An-26's? My interest goes out to the Chaika's (or Be-12's). I counted 7 of them, and probably only 3 airworthy. We could continue our contact by pm.....
