Warning taking photo's at Ronneby

Two weeks ago I was at Ronneby taking pictures at the northern side of the airbase. After a while I got a visit from the military security after a civilian driving by made a phone call. Making a long story short, taking pictures near the fence at Ronneby is since a few weeks forbidden and signs are placed on the fence. They let me go after they confirmed I had deleted all pics with buildings on them, knowing those could be recovered, but trusting me not doing that.

They warned next time for anyone the camera will be confiscated and researched, which will take a lot of time at least. Although they told me this is also the case at the civil terminal, I checked and did not see any signs saying photography is prohibited. But just be warned.

The old ways of the last Cold War are coming back. For those with long menories, this will include strict bans on photography at bases in Scandinavia. Norway had a absolute zero tolerance on photography, the further north, the stricter it was.


Time will tell what spotting conditions will be like in a few years time in these countries.
