Emmen 2019 MIL

Post by Joris Heeren »

Hi,

The following was noted on 5-8-2019 around noon:

hangar and ramp NE corner:
PC-6 V-613, V-618
PC-7 A-923, A-936
PC-9 C-409 plus two more hangared (one S/N 215 or 216 on nose wheel door, clear view on the other was blocked by a PC-6 and a PC-7)
PC-21 A-101, A-102, A-103, A-104, A-107, A-108

flying circuits:
DA42 R-711

arriving for TDY?:
F-5E J-3083 (PS c/s), J-3097
F/A-18C J-5008, J-5011 (tiger c/s), J-5025, J-5013 (on the ramp, already present?)
F/A-18D J-5232, J-5234

RUAG ramp:
AS532UL (T-3)37
PC-12 (HB-FOG)

Later on, it appeared the eight hangar boxes contained 8 F/A-18's (presumably the six above plus two more). Anyone for the missing two?

Hunter J-4070 was also still present. Nearby was a small party going on, apparently organized or promoted by FlSt 11 and local supporters.

Regards,
Joris

I was there on August 6th in the afternoon.

C-407 was the PC-9 in the far left corner of the hangar. The one in the middle was block too.

I saw 3 other F18’s : J-5018, 5020, 5024. So 9 in total for TDY.
J-5232, J-5018, J-5025 were in the boxes and don’t fly. The other 6 made a mission that afternoon.

Thanks a lot Ferry! Could you confirm which F/A-18 did not operate from a box? Could you also please confirm J-5018 (which carries special FlSt18 mks) since this is my last one...

Hi Joris,

I don’t know which F18 was flying from the apron in front of the “F5” hangar. At the moment of take-off I was at the cheese factor looking at the hangar on that side of the field and read the F18/F5 in take off. Was a bit late, most of the aircraft waiting for take off already. What I do know is that J-5008 parked on that apron after his mission. So maybe that is the one.

I can confirm J-5018, was parked in box 4. I read the serialnumber on the nose.

Hope that this helps a bit.
