a few questions and remarks:

Falcon
on 6-6-2007 there where 2 F-16B's on delivery to Pakistan, serials where 90613 and 90616.
I thought these had passed Lajes on 10 July 2007?
a few of the MD A-10's where read of at 9-9-'07,
79-0087/MD
78-0705/MD
78-0717/MD
78-0637/MD
78-0683/MD
support was KC-10A 83-0081
Are these the same as reported by you on 18 September 2007?
Currently at Lajes are 11 A-10's from 175wg/104fs Baltimore ANG. Tailcode's MD.
19th sept. The 11 A-10's will depart at 09.00h

Roel
Did they have an exercise overthere?
How long have they been gone from Aviano?
The 555th first participated in Red Flag-Alaska from 31 May to 15 June 2007. They then deployed to Kunsan AB (Korea) and were scheduled to return early this month.

6-6-07 is the date that was given to me this afternoon.......

The MD coded A-10's where probably not the same, on 9-9 a flight landed and departed on 11-9............

In the sixties 555th FS was part of 8th TFW and this was some kind of reunion rotation.

The fact that the 555th used to be assigned to the 8th TFW is just coincidence.
US forces regularly deploy all around the world. Locations in Afghanistan and Iraq are very well known, but Air Force, Navy and Marine aircraft also deploy to Korea, Guam, Japan and other locations in the Middle East.
This deployment was part of a scheduled Air Force Air and Space Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployment.

Update 555FS deployment

Post by Dutchmil »

Hi,

The third cell cancelled today, now re-filed for tomorrow.

The NM ANG F-16s should be ariving at Moron, not Lajes.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

Within a few years, Lajes will get her TDY for the Portugeze air Force back. There will be F-16's stationed and some Orions. The year is unknown but it will be somewhere around 2010..........

Also, the Portugeze air Force is thinking to purchase 30 more F-16's from a unknown user.............

Sorry but that is totally false!

Financial problems have reduced the number of MLU upgrades, the upgrade programme itself is running unbelievebly slow, the FAP is alarmingly low on pilots, and so on, so on.

You better check your sources in Portugal! 8)

But nice job giving us those reports from BA4...
