The capital of Brasil is Brasilia and the airport serving the city is the second busiest in the country. We decided to spent one day at this place as we had the idea this airport was to offer some nice specials we were not to see otherwise. As expected, lots of GOL, TAM and Avianca can be seen overhere but more interesting is the fact that a large part of the Brasilian Air Force VIP fleet is based at this airport. We were lucky to fleet the E-190's but rather unlucky with the Legacy's and the E-135/145's as we more or less noted the ones we had allready seen before on previous trips. But, Brasilia is worth a visit anyway and spotting is pretty easy.

After arrival on a domestic flight just walk around airside and you'll be able to read off everything on the gates. After exiting the terminal just follow the road to the right and this will eventually lead you to a Shell gas-station. As you're standing at this station you'll see a whole lot of hangars in front of you and that's exactly where you are heading. Stock up on drinks at the gas-station (you really need a drink to go with you) and just follow the road towards the hangars. Be aware, as you're at the gas-station you'll probably see nothing of interest near the hangars giving you the idea a walk is not necessary. Forget about that, we made about 25 Brasilian bizjets walking the fence which were not seen from the gas-station at all.
When you're finished walking the fence near the hangars just go back to the terminal and get airside for your flight back to wherever. The view airside is excellent and you won't miss a plane.

For the ones interested, Brasilia is the place where 3 Transbrasil 767-200's ended up years ago. Two of them are still around, PT-TAA and PT-TAB however, both of them are missing their wings with PT-TAA also missing its tail. Before, a third one (PT-TAC) was also around but this one was allready scrapped when we visited the place.
