The C-17A was there to bring James Clapper, US Director of National Intelligence, for a visit with New Zealand PM John Key:

The Iranian Airbus was at Wellington to deliver a trade delegation, arriving at Wellington on Saturday the 12th March and leaving again on Monday 14th around 9:00 pm.
Also arriving at Wellington on Wednesday 16th March was Arab Emirates Government B787 A6-PFC although I did not see this aircraft myself.
