2021 CIV: Antonov An-22 Antei "expired frame time rumours"..

Post by Stratofreighter »

...anyone able to confirm :?:

Supposedly Antonov An-22 Anteii UR09307 as of this July 2020
should have about 240/two-hundred-forty flying hours remaining.
Some say even less hours remaining.
And then she "would be retired".

Just another rumour, or is there actually some truth in this :?:
When was UR09307's last big overhaul :?:

Don't ask about where I gathered above rumours from  ,
I would like to know whether this is actually true or not
in some sense...

If true, then the clock really IS ticking... :(

Rumour. Not true. She is in demand. Tech pilot confirmed they can keep her airworthy for years to come. Especially since she is owned by her creator.

I think that the aircraft over overhauled fairly recently and I cannot imagine that it has flown much ever since. It was grounded for some time and I remember that it was also repainted then. Try to find the link.

...I suppose this link will do for now

Indeed, the rumours originate from Belgium.

That "time remaining" was rather vague.

Whether it was "time before overhaul" or not, I do not know.
And the people stating the limits probably could not be more precise.

Hope she'll fly for a couple more years to come :D
