The Quay/"Landtong" designated 8900-9000 alongside the Prinses Amaliahaven is very likely the scene of this crash.

Both Google Earth and Bing still have not updated their maps/photos with "Maasvlakte 2", so according to them 51 57.4 N 3 59.13 E is still off the coast...

The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival. Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival and vice versa.

BTW
A good landing is one from which you can walk away from.
A great landing is one after which they can use the plane again.

A smooth landing is mostly luck. Two in a row is all luck. Three in a row is provocation.

Hello,

I've worked at this location for two years and by looking at the pictures it's indeed correct that it crashed on the 8900-9000 area near the Amaliahaven.
By the looks of it he managed to get the plane on the ground in the far north-western corner of this area.

Further to the above: As the airframe absorbed a lot of the energy, less may have impacted the occupands. There is however more chance of cutting due to sharp edges. I hope this accident will have a swift investigation as I like to learn from it.

Highly ironic is the name of the company on the tail in these surroudings :-(

Dutch aviation police authorities have still not been able to interview the pilot of said crashed Cessna 172.
In the mean time the wreckage of PH-SKJ has now been recovered.
The prevailing weather during this accident was quite "interesting" to say the least. :|
