First Polish M-346 'Bielik' jets delivered

Post by evhest »

The first two M-346 Advanced Trainer Jets for Poland arrived at Deblin airbase late on Monday. In Poland, the M-346 now goes by the name of ‘Bielik’, meaning white tailed eagle. The two jets are the first of eight ordered.

More is here.

Elmer,

Nice coverage on the Polish M-346 arrival in Deblin. Some additional info on their pre-delivery flights. The second M-346 7702 was part of the certification programme and flew multiple flights together with the CSX55209 in October. CSX55209 was still unmarked except for a Polish roundel in the tail. Thereafter two weeks of no flying activities. Then the CSX55210/7702 re-appeared last week, on Wednesday 9 November for a test flight, the same day of the first flight of CSX55211, unmarked. 7702 did another two test flights before delivery, CSX55211 did just one more. Full markings were only applied on the latter just before delivery this Monday. The first Polish 346 (CSX55209) remains at Venegono for the time being as it should still be equipped with the non-modified software. Currently they are about to finish some modifications on the canopy, probably to enable flights with a kind of hood for IFR training. No sightings of number four yet....

By the way a some nice air to air shots of the T-346A on your website, well done!

Interestingly, the aircraft originally designed to fill the spot also was called Bielik...

Thnx! I visited M-346 production on 19 October and saw all eight Polish jets in various stages of production. This is actually number four:

While this is what number three looked like at the same time. Surprised to see this one already delivered now.
