D-472 visually confirmed. Just flew over my house at 500 feet. Despite the backlight in my photo, I can still read the registration!

Remarkable Boeing mentions the last 6 CH-47D being updated to F standard. :?

Indeed remarkable. I presume they refer to the original CH-47Fs, D-890 - D-895.

What happened to the D's by the way, are these still stored in NL somewhere (Gilze, Woensdrecht)?

Indeed I think they refer to the D-89x's.
Maybe for Boeing they were more Ds then Fs. As they were quiet different to the F we have now. Other wise you don't have to rebuild them completely after 7 years.

The Ds D-10x's are sold to an US company to be used as firefighters. But are they gone already?
The D-66x's remain in NL? Preserved used as GIA?
This as far as I know, probably others are better informed.

Indeed the CH-47Fs are formally 'rebuilt' into the new CAAS versions. More like the Germand and Danish "new" Super Lynx at the time though....

Anyway, I visited Gilze yesterday and got some more information on the old Deltas. Indeed a batch has been sold to a civilian US company that is going to use them for fire fighting. One D will be preserved on base and two others are or will be used as instructional airframes. The rest my guide didn't know.

EDIT: what I forgot to mention, is that yesterday most delivered CH-47s were seen except D-472, D-484 and D-485. Possibly at Woensdrecht? Seen were D-473, D-479, D-480, D-481, D-483, D-601 and D-602.

D-106 and D-667 are listed on the Woensdrecht spotter user board as being at LCW 'wfu'. D-662 was there as well until mid-22 but no views recorded from that time on.
D-603 and D-604 were seen at LCW mid-november for fit-out of Dutch add-ons to the CAAS configuration including an extra radio, bubble window, etc. They arrived in Antwerp last week of October.

So the final shipment should be D-605 and D-606 anytime soon, but most likely after delivery of one of the current ones due to space restrictions in the LCW hangars

The last two Chinooks,
the D-605 and D-606 have already been built by Boeing and are now being completed at SES International in Huntsville, USA.

Afterwards they come to Woensdrecht via Antwerp,
after which they are fitted with a number of specific Dutch equipment at DMO (Defense Materiel Organisation).

At the end of this year or early 2024, these last two helicopters will be delivered to the 298 Squadron at Gilze-Rijen.
