They have received them VERY recent...I was in Trapani last July and no sign of any Typhoons yet. Only 6 Stormo was there with a detachment of Tornado's.

By the way, the Tornado's were operating from a flight line with some hangars/tents on the south side of the base, quite close to the beach. Is this a dedicated 'tdy' area, or will the 37St Typhoons also operate from there? Or will they take up the shelter area on the north side were the F-16's used to be? Last option is probably more likely....

82 Centro CSar was operating from the big hangar on the east side, close to the main road. No numbers unfortunately...I saw a H500 and an HH-3F on two occasions, but both times I had a car full of family and it is not that easy to stop there. The one time I went to the airbase for some spotting, there was nothing outside at that place except a couple of civil registered Air Tractor water bombers.

Sure about the 1st of October? A friend of mine (civilian technician), returned this evening from Trapani, say i had not see any trace of ceremony.
The individula numbers af the Typhoon started from 1,the highest he see was 6.
