REQ: Identity of AS350 preserved at Marseille?

Post by Beagle »

Last month I came across this unmarked AS-350 which is preserved at the Eurocopter gate. Does anyone know its identity?

Hi,

This is probalbly a flying test bed of some kind because normally the AS350 has a conventional tail rotor.
This is what i found on a different forum

The AS 350 c/n 1013 (the picture) was used as flying test bed for Fenestron. The official designation from Aerospatiale was AS 350Z
here is a link to that forum

I hope that this is what you need.

It's a very special one !

F-WGMQ c/n 1013. Original built as a AS350C Astar and sold to the USA as N90001, upgraded to AS350D and re-regd. as N134BH. Then back to France and took up marks F-WYMZ. It was modified to AS350Z (also typed as AS351). The only ever built AS350 with a Fenestron tail! Then the helicopter was modified as testbed for the AS350B2 engine upgrade and took up marks F-WGMQ.

BR,

Robert
