Inbound EBACE Geneva a stop was made at Ramstein. We first had a look in the east-end where the below C-130s were identified.
We stayed for around an hour (0800-0900L) with no activity. As we left a World MD11 came in.

22/05/2007 Ramstein AFB, (RMS / ETAR)

64-0502/RS C-130E Hercules USAFE
64-17681/RS C-130E Hercules USAFE
70-1274/RS C-130E Hercules USAFE
89-1182 C-130H Hercules TN ANG Tennessee - red
89-1185 C-130H Hercules TN ANG Tennessee - red
92-1533 C-130H Hercules WY ANG Wyoming - yellow
N803DE McDonnell Douglas MD-11 World Airways

As there were less activity than we expected we decided to make the trip to Landstuhl where 4 of 6 helicopters were identified around 1030L.

22/05/2007 Landstuhl-Regional Medical Center, ( / ETIP)

82-23754 Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk US Army
82-23756 Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk US Army
88-26020 Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk US Army/Med
88-26073 Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk US Army/Med

From Landstuhl we continued to the Bismarkturm and when we got to the top (around 1100L) a C-17 just arrived and another was on approach... Nice!

22/05/2007 Ramstein AFB, (RMS / ETAR)

04-4133 C-17A Globemaster AMC McGUIRE - black
05-5143 C-17A Globemaster AFRC MARCH - yellow/red
99-0170 C-17A Globemaster AMC McCHORD - Green
??-???? C-17A Globemaster AMC McCHORD - Green :?:
61-0277 KC-135R KS ANG KANSAS - red/white
85-0003 C-5B Galaxy AMC Dover - yellow
86-0021 C-5B Galaxy AFRC Westover? - Blue
86-0022 C-5B Galaxy AMC TRAVIS - blue/black
??????? L-100-30 Hercules Lynden Air Cargo :?:

At 1130 we were off as we still had quite a distance to Geneva. Any help with the last C-17 and especially the Lynden Air Cargo Hercules that we were not able to ID on the platform

Last a thanks to Stephan Lodewijks for his Ramstein advice!

All the best, Michael

Hi Michael,

I have some additions for you.

The Lynden Air Cargo L-100 was N402LC and the 62AW C-17 was the 02-1108.

Just checked my pix and read of the UH-60 that came in at 13.40 hours
It looks like it is the 86-24500 (the damn things are hard to read but im 90% sure it is this one)
That make,s it a rare one as it must be a UH-60Q a Medevac version from CECAT whatever this unit is ?
So perhaps anybody couldt confirm ?!?

Hi Andel,

In that case 86-24550 is a better option. Callsign from this Blackhawk was Duke27. I'm also still searching for the right serial.

Cheers,
Eric

Hi,

Anyone for the serials of the two UH60's that visited Ramstein briefly on sunday 6 may? It was the same day that a US Navy C-130 and a Marines C-20 paid a visit.

I accidently deleted the pictures of the Blackhawk before noting down the serials... :x

Thanks!
Elmer
