Do you have serials for the 6 that went out at 16.15 and came back 17.45?

Hi gyus !

I plan to go to Spangdahlem one of these days to try to see the A-10.
I have the feeling, by reading your reports that they fly mostly during the afternoon and even on the evening.
As I live quite far from "SP" and want to have as much chances as possible on my side, can you confirm this or advice me the best moment to go ?

Have a good evening

Normally the first "wave" A-10 arrive between 1500LT and 1630LT and the second and last arrive normally at 2120LT, so they depart in the morning and in the afternoon and arrive in the afternoon and in the evening... :D

Hard to say Fred, as they change a lot. Last Monday the plan was to fly 3 missions (morning, afternoon, evening), but cancelled morning.

Keep in mind that the A-10 missions are very long most of the times (around 2 hours!). F-16s go quite a lot to the tankers these days. CAF hornets if they fly, only fly for 45-60min.

If it's a long drive for you, I would just go early already and be there in time.

Good luck,
Oscar

hi Fred,

yesterday first fighter 'activity' was around 12:30 LT with a bunch of F-16s going out.
they were back 1.5 hours later.

2 A-10s left around 14:00 LT

in the meantime a CAF F-18 made a small mission 45 min.

in the morning 2 C-17s landed
A C-5 and one of the C-17 departed

good luck

Thank you very much Coert !
It looks very precise to me now.
I'll go for sure one of these days. I even plan to stay overnight and spend two days at SP testing my new camera once weather forecast and my free time will both allow.
A-10 + CF-188 + the usual transports and F-16 altogether is an opportunity not to miss.

Have a good weekend.
