ETAD 31-03-2009

Post by Arjan »

Hi all,

On the SIS summary is a note about SJ F-15's arriving on Spang tomorrow. Does anyone know more about this? Are there flightplans filed yet, eta's?

I think I'll drop by tomorrow but it would be handy to know a time in advance.

Many thanks,

Is any of this true anyway? Why would they send over F-15E's for air defence purposes?

Maybe a lack of F-15C's? The E's are capable for air defense and can also monitor and destroy targets on the ground. (and they can keep each other awake, cause I think it will be awfully boring flights for those guys.

Well in that cause they could have just as well sent some LN Eagles... But we'll see. I don't think F-15E's ever get used for this role at all.

Most likely this is the NOTAM for the Oceanic crossing

G0089/09 - AIRSPACE RESERVATION
TR:55N030W 56N020W PIKIL ELPIN MIMKU
THE FOLLOWING SEPARATION WILL BE PROVIDED WITHIN OCEANIC AIRSPACE:
MNPS 60NM, NON MNPS 120NM. FL250 - FL270) DUPE, 31 MAR 11:25 2009 UNTIL 31 MAR
15:51 2009. CREATED: 30 MAR 10:04 2009

Well let's do some guessing...

Reservation ends at 1551Z, Entry point MIMKu Which I believe is west, northwest of Scotland.
Think next 45-60 minutes will be over UK, that will make it 1651z at the most. After that they will be over Northsea, over The Netherlands into Germany which will take them 30-40 Minutes so 1731z above our Airspace inot Germany. Another 10-20 minutes to ETAD..ETA 18z so 2000 Local.

to be on the Safe side..eta between 1900 and 2100 local

Grtz

Hi Joost,

Just to add... Normally they have a 45 min space at the beginning and at the end of the res frame. So they will estimate Mimku around 14.00 (first flight) and 15.00z (last flight). From there they should be able to make it within 1,5 hour to Spang. So landings between 17.00 and 18.30 (roughly).

Will email you specific details tomorrow.
