Hohn 2021
The last year of LTG 63 has begun.
Unfortunately the „Tag der Bundeswehr 2021“ has now been cancelled (also Neuburg/D.) and for the wing this would have been the last possibility to show the Transall to all people.
The unit complement will be reduced to six active C-160D until the fly-out date in September. Then an event with visitor aircrafts is planned. Most Transall will go to the scrapyard.
50+40 will be painted in special colours in March and no doubt will visit every German air base this year, at least for a missed approach.

Re: Hohn 2021
The first pictures of 50+40 are showing a gloss black colour, perhaps it will get the German flagg black-red-gold colour somewhere on the fuselage.

Re: Hohn 2021
Hopefully the 50+40 can be seen/photographed at many places, despite Corona!
Out of curiosity, which 6 are the ones still active? And is 51+04 one of them (you guessed it, that's my last C-160....)?

Re: Hohn 2021
Two further C-160D which were written from use are 50+53 and 50+77. This leave 12 active.
The rollout of special coloured 50+40 will be on 10.3.

Re: Hohn 2021
Please have a look:
https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/schleswi ... tg100.html
It shows the silver paint of the prototype, the first camoflage with dayglow, the white of the UN missions and on the wings the German flag, the Schleswig-Holstein flag and the lizard camo.
The Transall on the right side is approching the Hindukusch dropping load, the left sides shows a large LTG 63 badge and beneath the wings the service time with the wing 1968 to 2021 could be seen.
The aircraft will visit every German Luftwaffe base and perhaps even some of the Heeresflieger bases. As LTG 63 was founded at Celle a visit there should also possible.
