Req: Spotting at UK USAF bases on Spring Bank Holiday

Post by Trabanti »

Hi all,

question for UK spotters: Are on Spring Bank Holiday (May 28 this year) Lakenheath and Mildenhall normally closed or is (limited) flying activity to be expected?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Lakenheath will be closed except maybe for single transient flights.

The second bank holiday in May is also memorial day in the USA.

Mildenhall will still receive transient airplanes, like a normal weekend.

Be warned,by long tradition, weather is usually awful on UK bank holidays.

That used to be different I think, having good memories of Mildenhall Air Fetes on Spring bank holiday...
BTW, the topic just popped up during the making of this new forum, the Q. was nearly two years old! But the timing is nice. 8)
