Produced in the early sixties the L.1329 JetStar was one of the first dedicated bussiness jets. Although I do not collect anything of the US forces I hope that will be compensated with the ones presented here from my collection in alphabetcial order of country.1. Four L.1329 JetStar 6 were flown by the German Air Force Flugbereitschaft. 2. T-1645 was one the two JetStar 8 operated by the TNI-AU (Indonesian Air Force). 3. Islamic Republic of Iranian Air Force JetStar 8 1004 photographed at Geneva. 4. LAAF-001 of the Lybian Arab Republic Air Force JetStar 8 was transferred after its military career to the Libyan Air Ambulance-Ministry of Health-Government of Libya as 5A-DAJ.

5. Sole Mexican Air Force JetStar 8 JS-10201 was later re-serialed as 3908. 6. Royal Saudi Air Force 101 was one of three in use. 7. Not military but 7T-VHP JetStar II was in use by Yasser Arafat of the Palestine Government.

Aaaah, you've got to love it

I have always been fascinated by the design, when the good old VC-140s visited Soesterberg: in order to trim the horizontal stabilizers, the whole tail had to pivot

And the most fascinating of all if you ask me. However.... it could have been outclassed by the bizjet version of the B-57 Canberra!! Martin at one point was seriously looking at building a bizjet version by replacing the complete bomb bay with a passenger cabin, seating 6 to 11 people. It was however too much ahead of the curve then and obviously it was never built, but that would have been one killer bizet as well. Alas, we have to do with the JetStar

Thanks Dick for showing the Jetstar, when these arrived you knew something official will take place, large limousines were waiting long before arrival, sometimes a music band showed up... this day even two were present at Soesterberg the 12489 and 24198 brought many high ranked generals to celebrate the arrival of the first CR Eagle!

Fantastic collection, Dick. The USAF and German JetStars were no unusual visitors at Valkenburg until the mid eighties. The Algerian with Arafat visited too.

Thanks for the nice words Gerard and Erwin and good to sse that Gerrit and Rob were pitching in.
In the second half of the seventies the Saudi ones were loosing there shiny metal lower fuselage for a painted one.
